Toilet paper became a legit topic for social discourse and news reports as it became a commodity in short supply. It was one of the earliest widespread product sell-outs in supermarkets, big box stores, and on-line. In "normal" times, people would seek out their favorite brands - Angel Soft, Scott's, Charmin, but under the quarantine circumstances, any brand of TP is celebrated.
According to an article in the New York Post, April 9, 2020, "NCSolutions, a data and consulting firm, said online and in-store US toilet paper sales rose 51 percent between Feb. 24 and March 10, as buyers started getting uneasy about the growing number of virus cases. But sales rocketed 845 percent on March 11 and 12 as states announced lockdowns."
